Well, since the most popular post on this site, by far, was my recent 2012 US Open equipment roundup, I suppose I’d better follow up with an equipment roundup for the 2012 Hong Kong Squash Open.
All photos are from the official tournament photo gallery, http://www.squashsite.co.uk/hk/gallery.htm. Thank you as usual to Steve Cubbins, who I think took all these pictures.
Where possible, I’ve linked to a detailed post on this site. If you see any errors below or can fill in any of the many blanks, please let me know in the comments section at the bottom – thanks.

Hi pierre, Annie Au using prince airstick 130 strung with tecnifibre 305 squash string.
Emma Beddoes using Mantis power 110 and is using Asics squash shoes don’t know which ones, I know they are white.
Peter says

Adrian is playing a new model called “Salming R1 MID”
It’s a different color and a slightly higher support, more like the NSF or a basket shoe.
Pierre Bastien says
()
Thanks for the tip Peter! I will be adding those to the site soon.
D says

I’m a bit late to the game, but most of the yellow or blue grips are Karakal Super PU, great grips! As for Karim Abdel Gawad, he actually plays with the Harrow Vibe.
Pierre says
()
Thanks D, I’ve updated!
Janis says

Hey, Madeline Perry racquet is not Biomimetic, but previous Evolution model
Pierre says
()
Good catch, thanks Janis! I have updated the post.
Ben says

Hi everyone, it is Dunlop 4D evolution 120.
Ben
Chris says

They mostly use Karakal or Pointfore grips.
I think Chris Simpon’s racket is not Harrow but is Victor
Pierre says
()
Thanks Chris. After posting I got a reply from Chris on Twitter that he is using the Harrow Vibe with 1.1 Tecnifibre strings. In his words: “Very nice setup!”
Chris says
()
Fair enough! Straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak! Looks like his deal with Victor didn’t last long then
Chris says
()
And the other chap is right about the grips, they do seem to be blue or yellow mainly with white also popular and a few black ones.
Seb says

It seems that most Pros have Yellow or Blue color grips on their rackets. Does anyone know what grips/replacements grips they use.
Pierre says

Good question Seb I will have to keep an eye on that!
