Squash Camps

This is a guide to squash camps in the US and around the world (under construction). Please see the links below for more details.

Chelsea Piers Squash Camps are, I believe, new for 2012. The camps are run by Natalie Grainger, current U.S. National Champion and U.S. National coach. These are all day camps.

The Squash and Beyond squash camp is held at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The camps were launched in 2003 and are run by Zafi Levy, head coach of the Williams College team.

The Squash and Beyond program attracts some big-name players as coaches, including world #1 Nick Matthew of England, top-10 player Peter Barker of England, and top-20 player Alister Walker.

In addition to the top touring players, the camps also feature a roster of successful coaches and high-level players.

There are a total of eight week-long sessions, each with different coaches and geared toward players of different skill levels. In addition, there are two additional sessions. One is called Squash and Golf, which combines…squash and golf. And the other is called Squash and SAT, which combines squash with tutoring for the American SAT test, conducted by the Princeton Review.

The squash training consists of:

  • Squash technique and tactics
  • Fitness workouts
  • Match play
  • Video analysis
  • Individual squash instruction

The camp also includes other sports and activities, which may include:

  • Kayaking
  • Mountain biking
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Golf
  • Swimming

Campers stay in the Williams College student dormitories, which are only a few minutes’ walk from the squash courts, near the heart of the Williams campus and the center of town.

Williams College Dining Services provides breakfast and lunch. For dinner, counselors take campers out as a group to dine in local restaurants.
