Here’s my recap of all the 2014 British Open squash equipment. I got all the players from at least the round of 16, plus a few extras.

Fares Dessouky
Egyptian Fares Dessouky made it all the way through the British Open qualifying rounds and then scored a significant upset in the first round of the main draw over Karim Abdel Gawad, who was trailing in the fifth game when he retired due to injury. He’s now into the quarterfinals against Nick Matthew.

Egypt’s Tarek Momen advanced to the second round of the British Open after fighting off the “Flying Finn” Olli Tuominen. He lost to Mohamed El Shorbagy in the second round.

Mathieu Castagnet
Mathieu Castagnet scored a 5-game upset over Borja Golan in the 2014 British Open, complete with a late-match blood injury that forced Mathieu to wrap his head in a massive bandage. He eventually lost to Shorbagy in the quarters.

Gaultier absolutely incinerated Chris Simpson, 3-0. Every shot Gaultier hit died in the back nick on the second bounce. Up next he’s going to play Amr Shabana in the quarterfinal.
