Check out this baby from a company called Blade based in Hong Kong. They have a series of rackets called the Nation Series and this is the Great Britain model. I love the design.
I managed to get my hands on this racket briefly and put together the video walkthrough below:
Here’s an auto-generated transcript of the video:
What’s up guys this is Pierre. I just wanted to do a quick look at this racket from a company called Blade that I’ve heard of before. One of the pros that I met at the World Masters a couple years ago, I think he carried some of these out in his uh club in New Jersey. A buddy of mine plays with this model. Check out the cosmetics on this. I love it. It’s called the Nation Series and it’s this uh Great Britain up here on the inside and it’s got a you know got the British flag there and or the UK flag? God I’m such a rube. I think that’s the United Kingdom’s flag. Some more research will be required for the Americans.
Anyway I think the design looks great. It makes me want to become British just looking at the racket which is made in Hong Kong. The company, Blade, the website is blade.com.hk,
and the guy that I play with, Mark, he uh he knows the pro out there that uh I guess distributes these. So I’m just restringing it for him as a favor but I thought I’d do just a quick look at this just to show it off. I think it’s pretty awesome. They do ship worldwide if you want to take a flyer and try one of these. I haven’t actually hit with it uh because the strings have been broken but I might take it out for a little practice after I string it. Now why am I holding this other racket here? What’s this other brand doing in the video? Ah! Oh interesting I just reviewed this racquet and it’s by another company called Harrow and it just so appears to my naked eye that these two racquets are from the identical mold. So I was noticing that as I was playing Mark that it had to be the same racket and now I’ve got them both side by side to compare they’re the same. They’re the same exact um the same exact frame. So that’s kind of kind of interesting. Of course I didn’t weigh it, what’s wrong with me? So the weight of this racket all in is 147 grams the weight of the of the Blade and on the balance beam the balance is uh 36.75 (cm) let’s call it,
that is fairly um fairly head-heavy. So this is a beauty of a racket. Hope I’ll get a chance to um a chance to hit with it. Forgot to show you this part: England Nation Series. That’s where the thing is. So uh hopefully I get a chance to hit with it but I just thought it’d be fun to show it off uh before I restring it. All right take care, see you later, subscribe if you want more and I’ll see you in the next one. Bye.

Blade got some lovely rackets. Developed by former PSA pro Phil Head (Brit based in Hong Kong). I’ve played with both Blade Katana and Blade Shogun SL. The latter is the most delicious racket. Extremely light feel and pretty much evenly balanced I’d say. Great control racket but with more than enough power when needed. Boom! I believe this Nation series (at least the British one) is a touch more head heavy than the Shogun SL. Recommended!!

Red cross on white is the England flag and it says England on the handle so this looks like a muddle. I see there is also a Scotland model. It certainly isn’t the Union Jack, which is the unofficial but widely used flag of the United Kingdom except that combines only England, Wales and Scotland flags, which is actually Great Britain, and leaves out Northern Ireland, which completes the UK.
And a Hong Kong company paying homage to the UK given we gave all of the territory back to China…

A Chinese knock off? No way!
Harrow can’t be too upset as they borrowed heavily on Dunlop for Jonathan Power…
