You might have heard about NFTs in the news recently. The hype is extensive.
Well Chris Hanebury from Serious Squash went ahead and created the first squash-related NFT. It’s a clip of him doing a squash trick shot, and he’s selling it in an edition of ten.
Out of curiosity, I decided to go through the process of buying Chris’s NFT, and I put together this video about it. Spoiler alert: it was a pain.
I think the concept of NFTs is pretty neat — making a collectible item out of something digital. If the process were smoother, I could see squash pros creating NFTs that they sell to fans as a way of raising money to support their careers. Or the PSA could turn famous squash points into collectible items. How much would you pay to own “that” point between Greg and Ramy?
