The newly redesigned upper offers a combination of polyurethane, air mesh and synthetic leather reinforcement for unmatched fit, breathability and durability. Visible rearfoot and forefoot gel® cushioning systems combined with fluid ride® midsole to provide exceptional cushioning from high impact. Increased support and enhanced stability is achieved through a rigid midfoot trusstic system® technology, while a supportive quarter panel brace securely wraps your foot. Our key model for top club and collegiate teams everywhere.

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Toe box is wide and very comfortable. I’m a size 8.5/9 and I went with the nine just to give myself a little more room in the width. I have very wide square feet so one of the biggest factors for me is toe box room. Highly recommend these shoes. I tired no joke 14 Vball shoes from amazon before finding these. I also use my own inserts in these-they come with a medium arch support. So trading mine for the removable insole was great. Some shoes I found had too high an arch to begin with so when using my sole instead it was just ok much and too uncomfortable.

Bought these for my 13 year old daughter who plays serious club volleyball.
She's only been wearing them about a week, but here's our 1st impression:
Unlike most volleyball shoes, these are NOT too narrow, which was a lovely surprise! They were comfortable right out of the box! (My daughter has normal width feet. Most volleyball shoes only come narrow.)
Her old shoes were Mizunos. In comparison, she noticed the gel in the Asics on the first day. She said her landings are SO much more softer now with the gel in the forefoot & rearfoot- which will be better on her joints & bones!
She is an outside hitter. I have not heard feedback yet on how the shoe effects her jumps. I will update this review as soon as I hear.

All in all, she is very happy with how the shoe fits, how it looks, and how it performs. Her only complaint was at the end of 12 hour day of volleyball, but to the shoes defense, they are still new, and 12 hours is a long time to be playing volleyball & having any shoes on your feet.

Will update as time goes on.
