These shoes are fantastic! The thing you have to remember with all shoes, clothes, what have you, is that not every single one is going to be made the same size. Just like trying on a pair of jeans - you go to one store, try on a 4 and it's too small. You go to another store, try on the same cut/fit in a 4, and they're big. So, when buying shoes, you also have to remember this, and not just tell everyone to not buy them.
I've always been a HUGE fan of Asics. I used them my senior year of high school volleyball and loved them (which was five years ago). I bought mine back in September of 2012 for the purpose of Basic Training for the Air Force. I'm naturally a heel-to-toe runner, so I develop shin splints quite easily. These are made for high-impact, which is what you get when you run like I do. They were very easy to break in, and were incredibly comfortable. I got them in the plain white, as to avoid attention when I arrived to Basic Training, and to hopefully keep them (if you know anything about AF BMT, then you'll understand =]). For your first week and a half of Basic Training, you wear your sneakers, even with your ABU's. I needed something that would withstand that, PT, and be comfortable. These were the shoes.
I went two months before I shipped out wearing these, running anywhere from 2 miles to 4 miles a day, 6 days a week. Then, in Basic Training, we ran 3 out of 6 PT days a week, for a minimum of 30 minutes - normally 40ish. They lasted me the whole time I was there, and they were brilliant.
My advice - if you're looking for a running shoe that's cheap, but doesn't sacrifice quality, this is it. Heck, the Air Force even sells Asics at Basic Training, while not these exact ones. You can't go wrong with a pair of Asics, ever. Even if you're using them for their namesake - volleyball - you'll still be happy you got them. Lightweight, affordable, comfortable, and durable!
