A very difficult question, the Dunlop Ultimate is a iconic racket and best in it's class but the powerkill 120 probably offers better value right now with the string upgrade ashaway are able to offer.

I'm having some difficulty with the string tension to put into this racket. What would you say the string tension is on the ZX provided in the racket? It feels very loose maybe around 23-24lbs? The string pattern means that even at low tensions the bed feels very tight!

We would estimate about 23lbs but lots of factor can affect string tension.

As an intermediate player, would you purchase this racket over the Dunlop aerogel 135

Yes this racket would be a great choice for an intermediate player, it offers great playability and comes pre strung in Ashaway's performance string.

To maximise durability, what would be the best string/tension to purchase?

This racket already comes pre-strung in a very good quality string (Ashaway Supernick ZX), but a good string for durability would be the Head Reflex 1.30 at a lower tension.

    I have just bought and played with this racket and I am very impressed and would have scored it a 5*, the only drawback is the factory stringing which leaves it a little dull initially. Great deal from PDH Sport in supplying a second set of Ashaway ZX so I can restring the racket to my preference. Good power from the back of the court and have rediscovered with fantastic accuracy a drop shot from mid to back of the court. Moving up the court the racket is very manoeuvrable being only 120g and very accurate in the forecourt. The description suggests the racket is head heavy but the one I have is only just head heavy possibly closer to even balance. Moving from a Tecnifibre 125 carbonflex which is also a great racket but I have no doubt a second Powerkill 120 ZX will be bought from PDH Sport

    I got this racket after having the Karakal T130 FF (which I enjoyed) and I must say it is a brilliant racket. I immediately found a better touch at the front and power through the backhand. I was alittle apprehensive about buying a racket from a brand that I hadn’t before (especially for £70) , but I would strongly recommend this racket to anyone.

    I’ve just come off court after a knock with the new Ashaway powerkill 120 ZX and OMG what a superb racket !!! Lovely touch and plenty of power without too much effort. Lightweight and forgiving. I’m a fan of the JP custom spark. If you like that racket then this is a must try! As usual, superb service from PDH!!
