I did a quick video about four Harrow doubles rackets. You can see, in the brief moment of game footage that appears in the video, that I’m talking about North American hardball doubles.
The stars of the video are:
Thanks
Thanks to Dave from Harrow for providing these rackets for testing!

Possibly a naive question, but why are doubles / hardball rackets different than the rackets used for regular squash?

They’re just a little bit different, to suit the hard and fast play of hardball doubles. They tend to be traditional head shapes with the bridged throat providing stability. They tend to be a little heavier, and head-heavier. And they are usually strung at a higher tension (say, 32 pounds).
That said, you can definitely use doubles rackets for singles. Less so the other way around, though one of the best players in Philly uses the Harrow Vapor for dubs.

Why are hardball singles racquets completely different than hardball doubles? The balls are almost exactly the same (white dot fuchsia for singles, red dot blue for doubles)

The Stellar and M-140 models have undergone an upgrade in composition and cosmetic design change since they were sent to you. They still remain our best selling doubles frames and the overwhelming choice of the SDA and WSDA pros as well as the vast majority of amatuer players.
