Hitting Dying Length

Here’s a video I did about hitting dying length.

I went to the squash courts that day focused on trying to hit everything to good dying length, but it was difficult to do it well under pressure. I think that’s because Richard was doing a good job cutting balls off — in other words he was not falling into the trap.

One thing I wish I’d pointed out in the video is that the whole point of hitting a dying length is to establish good position in front of your opponent. I won more points when I was trying to hit good length as a means to an end, rather than as a goal in itself.
