Nice vlog from PDH Sports. Paul discusses the current Dunlop product range with PDH’s Dunlop account manager.
Topics discussed:
- Dunlop players Ali Farag, Nour El Tayeb, Diego Elias, and Greg Gaultier
- Dunlop’s evolution from providing traditional bridged frames to incorporating teardrop models
- How Farag came to use the Revelation Pro
- Technical and cosmetic changes to the Hyperfibre rackets for this year’s frames
- The new owners of the Dunlop brand, Sumitomo Rubber Company
- Revelation Pro vs. my current racket, the Revelation Pro Lite (“perhaps for the younger kids” 😛 )
- Revelation 125 vs. Revelation 135
- Nick Matthew’s Evolution Pro is Dunlop’s most popular racket in the UK
- Traditional frame shapes: Precision Pro, Ultimate, Elite and more
- Dunlop squash balls, grips, bags and shoes
- The Srixon branding that’s been introduced on the bags (“watch this space”)

A bit misleading since Diego may appear to be endorsing the Ultimate but he plays with the Elite (repainted). And the reason for that is they already have Gaultier playing with the Elite, but he’s actually playing with his old Hotmelt with the switchable handle repainted every year to look like the newest Elite.
Shabana also did that, having his racquets repainted to look like the Ultimate. With no pros endorsing the Ultimate after they dropped Shabana they naturally slotted Diego there.
Which leads me to question how “off the rack” the racquets are for Ali and co. When Ramy was sponsored by Dunlop his racquets were also repainted and not the models Dunlop made him appear to be endorsing.

I actually believe them that Farag uses the stock model — although I don’t have any real evidence of that. Certainly the other guys have those customizations.
