Prince squash balls. The market for squash balls is pretty interesting. It tends towards dominance. Right now, Dunlop squash balls rule the roost.
Why is it that one ball tends to dominate the market? Probably because the squash ball is the one piece of equipment that both players have to share.
In that kind of situation, you want there to be a “safe” choice. Ultimately it comes down to which ball is the official choice of the local tournament or league.
I actually played with the Prince balls in college briefly. I remember coach broke out some of these one day at practice, and we were like: “WHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?” The balls had the Prince P logo engraved in the rubber. It was mortifying, and thank god we switched back to Dunlop soon after.
