1. Whoop Strap 4.0
Whoop is a fitness-oriented membership program that comes with a wearable strap that tracks your workouts, recoveries, and sleep. Then the Whoop app, through a combination of data visualizations and phone notifications, coaches you on how to balance all those things for optimal athletic performance.
This is a good gift for anyone who’s into staying fit, and especially for someone who gets exercise in multiple ways. The app helps you categorize your workouts so you can, for example, compare different squash matches against each other, or compare your squash workouts versus other workouts.
It’s just an activity tracker, not a watch, which means the strap is pretty thin. It’s also water-resistant, so you can wear it swimming or in the shower.
I purchased this back in March and I’ve grown to love it. I check it multiple times a day:
- In the morning to see how well I’ve recovered from the prior day’s strain and how much sleep I’ve gotten
- In the afternoon to see how much exercise I’ve gotten versus the benchmark set by the app
- In the evening when it starts pestering me to go to bed so I can get enough sleep for the next day’s strain
Whoop is a membership program and it’s pricey — $300 per year — but for me personally, it’s been a great experience.
To get Whoop as a gift for someone, go to my affiliate link and click the “Buy as a Gift” button. You can elect to gift 6, 12 or 18 months’ worth of the Whoop experience. You’ll also get $30 off by going through my link. Note: the recipient will enter their credit card as part of the setup, so if they choose to continue with the service after the gifted period is over, any ongoing charges will be on their card.

2. Squash Racket
Yes — a squash racket. You can’t play squash without one.
If you are buying for someone who is new to squash, and you want to buy them a starter racket, check out my guide to the Best Squash Rackets for Beginners. One of my top choices for this would be the Head Nano Ti, which strikes a good balance between ease of use, playability, and price:

If you’re buying for someone who already plays squash, it’s a bit more difficult because they may already have a racket that they use and hopefully like, but a super practical and generous gift would be to find out what racket they use and buy them a backup! Alternatively, a squash bag (see below) might be a nice option.
3. RIA Goggles
RIA Goggles are my personal favorites. They’re many times more expensive than the “standard” squash goggles you can get for $30, but RIAs are by far the most comfortable, clearest, fog-resistant goggles I’ve tried. I love them and have never once regretted paying up for them.
Many people wouldn’t buy these for themselves, and that’s what makes these a great gift!

Search:4. Squash Bag
A squash bag is a nice gift option for a squash player because they get a fresh, clean bag that’s the latest style.
Squash bags come in different sizes. I think a good size to get someone is a 9-racket bag. This is a nice middle ground between a 12-racket bag, which is bigger than most people need, and a 6-racket bag, which is adequate for many people but a little smaller than it sounds once you stuff all your other gear in there. Really, any size will do though.
Personally I like Tecnifibre bags for their style and practicality. Here’s their latest model from the “Tour Endurance” collection, but all Tecnifibre squash bags from the last few years are good choices:

5. Yeti Rambler Water Bottle
I have tested out a bunch of water bottles over the years, and the Yeti Rambler is my favorite. I just keep it in my bag and fill it up at the courts.
This is a great gift because it looks nice, is well made, and handles wear and tear very well.
Having a water bottle in your bag is great. For one thing it saves using a disposable cup every time you need a sip of water. It also means you can chug a lot of water at once rather than filling up those little disposable cups a hundred times.
I personally recommend the 18 ounce model, but any size will do!

Search:6. Under Armour / Nike Shorts
A new pair of athletic shorts is a welcome addition to any squash player’s kit. It’s always nice to have a fresh, clean pair at the ready.
This is a good practical gift that most squash players can use right away.
Personally I see Under Armour and Nike as two of the most popular brands around the squash courts. I like to go for either 9-inch or 10-inch shorts. Those give me good leg coverage but aren’t too baggy.

Search:7. Portable Battery Pack
I love having a battery pack in my squash bag. If my phone’s battery is running low, I can charge it up while I play.
Having a battery pack is very convenient. You know the feeling when your phone is dying, and you’re scrambling around trying to find an outlet in some weird location?
Well if you have a battery pack in your bag, it’s kind of like having a power outlet in your bag. You just plug your phone in and it charges up, all inside your squash bag. And of course it can provide power to anything else that uses a USB.
I’m recommending the Anker PowerCore Slim 10000:

I actually own a different one from Anker, the PowerCore 26800:

Search:The benefit of the 26800 is you don’t have to charge it as often.
I think the number at the end of the model name is a measure of power output, so I guess that means it should last 2.68 times longer than the PowerCore 10000.
This one also has three output ports so you can share your power with a friend or two.
The downside of this baby is it weighs 490 grams. It’s kind of a brick.
It’s sitting in my squash bag, so it’s not exactly a big deal to have almost three hundred extra grams in there, but I often find myself wanting a slimmer one.
Between that, and an almost $50 price difference as I write this, I’m recommended the PowerCore 10000 first.
8. The Klitch
The Klitch is a clip that allows you to clip your shoes together, and then attach them to the outside of your squash bag. This is good if you don’t want to stuff your shoes into your bag — either because your bag is small, or because you’re worried about shoe odor accumulating inside your bag.

Search:9. Field Notes and Zebra Pen
That’s right people, I’m recommending a notebook and pen.
These are for taking notes at the squash court. You can:
- Take notes on how you played
- Jot down what worked and didn’t work against a particular opponent
- Write out a few of the things you learned during your recent squash lesson
- Make a shopping list for after squash
Writing things down helps commit them to memory. Having a nice notebook and pen in your bag makes it easier to get those thoughts down on paper.
Field Notes are a nice notebook. This one’s lined as graph paper, so you can draw a squash court if you need to diagram something.

Search:Don’t forget a pen! Zebra pens are just nice to use, and leave a smooth, satisfying trail of ink. I have bought a bunch of these over the years.

Search:10. Headbands and Sweatbands
If your squash player likes to wear headbands, sweatbands or wristbands, then a great gift is to buy some more of them as stocking stuffers. These items wear out after a while, losing their stretch or their color, so some fresh ones are sure to be a hit.
I personally like to buy from Suddora, who seem to specialize in only sweatbands. I’ve found they are very comfortable. I also like that they come in a variety of colors so you can find one to match your squash kit.

11. Band-Aids / Plasters
Yes, I know. SO WHOLESOME.
But here’s the thing: if you play enough squash, sooner or later you are going to scrape a knee, or get grazed by a racket, and you’ll be bleeding a little. Nothing too serious hopefully, but you’ll want to cover up the wound so you aren’t getting any blood on the squash court, on your opponent, or on your clothing.
That’s when it comes in really handy to have some Band-Aids or plasters in your squash bag.

Search:12. Squash Ball
Last but certainly not least, the humble squash ball. These only last a few outings before they wear out, so you know this is a gift that will get used!
You can check out my guide to squash balls if you want to see all the options that are available, but most people — around where I live, anyway — just go with the Dunlop Pro double yellow dot.
Squash balls make a great stocking stuffer because they are small, inexpensive, and are the key piece of equipment that makes squash… squash!
Buy one ball, buy a tube of three, or buy a box — any number will be a treat for a squash player.
