The Dunlop Apex Infinity is a mid-price squash racket from Dunlop. Right now we’re on the 6th iteration of this frame. I believe every year they just update the cosmetics, not change the racket much if at all.
Although it’s not the latest-and-greatest racket that the pros use, I’ve played with this racket and it’s a perfectly good choice for beginners up to more seasoned players. It has a teardrop shape, which provides a nice power boost because of the larger string bed. It also has a fan stringing pattern, meaning the strings fan out as they approach the top of the frame, which adds additional power as well. The racket is listed as 115 grams of frame weight, but felt a little heavier than that in testing. Still, it is pretty light and not a clunky brick — it’s a quality racket.
Overall: this racket is good value for the money.
Check out my video review of the original Dunlop Apex Infinity below. Although this original version is no longer available, it gives you the idea of what this racket is all about. You can purchase any of the later models available below and they should be very similar.

Hey it’s Pierre. I am doing a review today of the Dunlop Apex Infinity squash racket. This is new for 2015 from Dunlop. It is part of their mid range of rackets, priced about 99 bucks along with the Dunlop Apex Synergy, which I just did a review of which you can check out. The yellow one, the Infinity, is a teardrop shape with a fan stringing pattern. The strings kind of go off at an angle in comparison to the Synergy which has the conventional head shape and conventional stringing pattern. So the Infinity was a bit more evenly balanced I thought than the other guy and so was a little more maneuverable. It had a really nice feel to it. I thought it had good power. I kind of like generally the stringing pattern. I feel like it does give you good power and I think the strings are just longer when they’re in that fan pattern and also the fact that it’s a teardrop so I was getting good power but because it’s kind of evenly balanced it’s maneuverable in the corners and it was easy to get up quickly and put a ball in short. I had nice touch. I’ve been hitting with it now for a while. Just had a long hit with it and really enjoyed it. I think it’s a got a cool cosmetic. You got this orange — not orange, this has a yellow, sort of like a bright yellow and dark grey scheme to it. And so all in all I think you know for 99 bucks is a really good deal. I think this is a top quality racket at a really good price. Also a guy on my team here Peter’s been playing with it and he felt the same way — he’s really liked it as well. So I think you’re getting a good deal with the Dunlop Apex Infinity, new for 2015.

Hi Pierre,
I’m trying to decide between a Dunlop Apex Infinity and a Dunlop Force Relavation 125. I like to hit hard, but also to put the ball dead in the corner. Since I played table tennis and badminton in the past, I tend to use my wrist in the swing, especially for the back-hand. The 2 rackets seem quite similar to me (except price), so my question is if the difference in practice is noticable. If so, which one would be better for me?
Best regards,
Bart

How does this racket compare to the head graphene cyano 115. Which amongst the two would you recommend.
Pierre says

I think I prefer the Cyano. I believe it’s a little lighter. The Cyano is 157 grams all-in. I don’t have an Apex Infinity here to weigh, but I’m guessing it’s heavier.
The Apex Infinity is a good racket for the price, though.

Thank you for the reply.
According to your review above and comments. The total weight of apex infinity is 155 grams all-in. I am slightly confused as to why you said it is heavier compared to Cyano.
Also, if you comment as to which amongst them is has better control?

Whoops, I didn’t realize I had included the Apex’s weight above. So, apparently they weigh about the same then. I will try to borrow a friend’s Apex Infinity and compare it to the Cyano in the coming days.

Thank you very much.
Can you please send me link of the review here when you do it. Actually I am confused in between them.
i have played with Cyano a bit as a friend owns it. I like it as far as shot power is concerned. About control of drop shots i am a bit skeptical.
Your website is the best one for such comparisons that i came across hence asked the question.
Thank you for replying. Will be looking forward to the comparison between these two rackets

I wasn’t able to hit with the Apex because the strings were broken, but here are a few notes. The frames are quite similarly-shaped. I noticed the Apex has more of the weight in the head, which may be why I thought it was heavier. This should make it a bit slower and steadier through the air. The Apex also has the fan stringing pattern versus a traditional pattern on the Cyano, so I think the Apex will feel a little more powerful.

Thank you Pierre,
i have shortlisted 4 rackets:
1) Prince Pro Beast PowerBite 750
2) Technifibre Carboflex 125
3) Head Cyano
4) Dunlop Apex infinity
I am an intermediate level player. More wristy on backhand.
What do you think is overall a better racket in all of these.
Is it true that prince rackets brake easily?
Thank you
