Here’s the 2013 version of the Dunlop Biomimetic Elite squash racket, which is promoted by Gregory Gaultier of France, former world #1 and current world #2, though it doesn’t appear that he actually plays with this racket himself.
Note: this racket was succeeded by the Dunlop Biomimetic Elite GTS

However I’ve seen comments here and here that he may actually be playing with a much older racket called the Dunlop Custom ICE Elite and had it spray-painted to look like the Biomimetic Elite. Perhaps he really loves the older model and doesn’t want to switch, even though Dunlop moves ahead with newer models each year for business reasons.

By the way, since we are on the topic of Greg’s racket, at the ongoing world championships his strings are strung to 6,5 kg (14,3 lbs). Obviously with the green 305 strings.

Wow!!!!!!! Nicklas do you know if Greg is using the green 1.1 or 1.2?

At the moment, in the world championships, he plays with the 1.1 mm…but in the past he has used both. Shoutout and big thanks to pro tour stringer Nick Down for sharing.

Gaultier looks to have changed rackets!! This is not the racket he is holding in this photo recently taken from today I assume!

Any ideas what this is? It certainly isn’t the precision Elite. Is this a version of the Dunlop Custom Ice from a while ago?
Pierre says

It does like the Custom ICE with the little bump at the top of the grip. I think he has been using this racket all along, painted to match whatever is Dunlop’s latest Elite model

Yup, Lloyd’s linked pic looks like unpainted Ice custom elites. He has been using the Ice custom elite now for many years, usually painted as a biomimetic elite not as a precision elite.
Found some pics that claim to be an old Gaultier’s custom elite racket painted as an Aerogel elite:

Interesting that it not only has the bumper shaved off but also the paint is sanded off at the top of the head. It also has white tecnifibre x-one strings. The x-ones were available as white some years ago.

Yes correct it is the Ice Custom Elite from years ago… I have the lizard green and the biomimetic green ones (don’t ask me how I got them!)…. reall awesome sticks!!! I am hoping Dunlop (with the new Japanese ownership) re-releases them again!

I would like to know which racket Gaultier is currently using
I ve fiund several sites mentioned biomimetic elite, elite GTS and precision elite
I have no idea and am lost
Specially some of these rackets came with Greg signature
Thanks if you could help

I believe he is using the biomimetic elite. He hasn’t changed to the precision elite yet (assuming he is going to change at some point).
I’m almost certain he isn’t using the elite gts

Where can I buy this racket in the US? I’m looking for them on the internet and apparently there is none…

I have the 2012 version, and it’s my racquet of choice. I like the even balance and 500cm2 head size, which gives me good stability and plow though, and good forgiveness in the head size. This racquet (as with most Dunlops I’ve tried) does have a bit of vibration compared to other brands of racquets I’ve tried, and I do not use the Dunlop dampener (it falls off too much), however I’m used to the vibration, as I’ve used Dunlop racquets for years now. I attribute the vibration to more “feel”!
I also have the GTS version as a backup, which I find is a bit too head light for me, and doesn’t offer the same plow through as the 2012 version. It may be because I’m so used to an even balanced racquet. Haven’t tried the 2013 version though, so can’t comment on that one.

Hey,
What string tension do you recommend for this racket? I used the tecnifibre carboflex 125 which I strung at 23 lbs. Thanks!

What is the modern 2016/2017 model equivalent of this racquet?

I found one for sale on Amazon – see link above. Thanks

Hey, i converted that from dollars to pounds and it was practically twice the price i used to pay. Is that the curse of looking for an older racket then? 🙂

Hi Lloyd, I’ve got 3 barely used ones and selling them. Give me a text on 07411250849 if you’re interested.

I managed to get a barely used one off eBay for under £40. Always worth a try.

Honestly, i think the 2013 version is an amazing racket with rhodonculus control and amazing power. I just want to know what kind of string he uses in 2014.

Hi!
Looking at the recent videos/pics of Gregory it looks like he uses now the TF 305 strings instead of the X-ones.
Does anyone of you know the Gauge of the strings and the tension he uses?

I believe Gaultier is using a very old string – Technifibre Multifeel 1.2
My coach used to string his racket ( he was a pro for Hong Kong a while back) retired now, but yeah, he strings at 27lbs. He could have updated recently, I don’t believe so though.
Ji Hwan says

He actually strings around 15-16 lbs.

He uses the 305+ 16 gauge I know as he gave me a racquet this year in hull and it’s strung around 26lbs the comment above is way way off!!! the bloody ball would go through the strings at that lower tension and he would have zero control of the ball
Niklas says

Hi Big T. Could you post a link to a pic of that racket. Are you completely sure it is Greg’s own racket that he used in competition? Maybe you got his practice racket or something, since he doesn’t play with the 305+. I have never seen Greg using the black 305+ strings, in every match I’ve seen for many many years he always uses the green 305 string. Even this year at Hull (I assume you mean the British open) he used the same green 305 strings, as he has done in every match I’ve seen this year and the past 5 years.
