I have got a review for you today of the dunlop sonic core pro 130. this is a new model from dunlop in 2020 big thanks to dunlop for sending me this to review this baby is 156.2 grams on my scale it’s a 130 gram racket 156.2 all in weight with strings grip and everything and on the balance beam it is 37 centimeters which is head heavy and by my two scale method that’s 54 of that of the weight of this racket is in the head so it feels light maneuverable but a little bit head heavy i like that i’ve been having a lot of fun with this racket i’ve been playing with a teardrop or kind of a hybrid shape for years and years now

I used to play with this model like three generations ago and i’ve been having a lot of fun with this i was kind of surprised um this is a definitely a control racket you got a i mean it has good power but it’s not as good as some of the kind of larger larger framed models i’m going to be reviewing the elite and the ultimate after this and we can compare the power but this has a little bit smaller head size this is 470 centimeters squared head size and uh the string is by the way 14 by 18 and it’s a dunlop silk i think it’s 17 gauge black dunlop silk string i really enjoyed this racket i actually might kind of switch to a traditional racket maybe this one this year just for just to mix it up you know i often think that playing with the teardrop gives me like a little bit more power but honestly with this you just kind of and with any good racket of which this is you just got to get used to it i found that as long as with this one as long as i’m taking a full swing like you kind of got to bring your own power but as long as you know that going into it and you just take a full swing and concentrate on getting that follow through you can get the you can generate the power you need and then when you get a nice um a nice short ball that you want to take in you can you can use the compact strings here to to get a lot of feel on the ball i kind of like that this one with this smaller head it just feels a bit more solid the string bed does it’s not quite as big and everything just feels a little more precise

one other thing that’s nice that a friend chris pointed out to me when you’re playing with a traditional head shaped bracket is you’re just the sweet spot’s right in the center kind of right where the d and the dunlop logo is so you know exactly kind of pin it’s kind of a pinpoint type of feeling so the cosmetics on this are as usual blue and black they’ve got the srixon branding on the newer models as dumb up is now part of that company i believe a japanese company and the uh the cosmetics on this look pretty sweet i usually have blue or black somewhere in my uh kit so this uh this tends to go go pretty well with all that all in all impressed with this racket sonic core pro 130
