Question from Nico:
Hi Pierre, I know you currently use the Dunlop Biomimetic Pro GTS 130. What are these (and the Ultimate and Elite GTS racquets)like for durability? Thanks.
My take:
Yep, I’ve been using the Dunlop Biomimetic Pro GTS 130 for about 12 months now and it hasn’t broken yet, so I’ve been pleased. I haven’t used the Ultimate / Elite for extended periods of time, so can’t say about those rackets.
Readers, what do you think? Please leave a comment!

Black knight racquets are much more durable then dunlops however intermediate to advanced players should expect 12-18 months of life from dunlop racquets. If your the type of player who breaks a racquet often stay away from dunlop and probably head racquets. I really like dunlop racquets myself but I can play with any racquet without breakage being much of an issue.

I’m having a break with Dunlop rackets right now. Can’t afford them if they all break after 10h of play. My latest Head was a Xenon Youtek 135 that still hold’s but the string went and I don’t dare to restring it this late in life, but the frame seemes to hold very well. My latest Black Knight has lasted a few good wall hits, much better then Dunlop, but not as good as Head in my real life test!

It really depends on how careful you are with the walls and the floor. I had an ultimate which broke after four (4) hits while warming up a ball before a match (no contact with the walls or the floor). What really threw me off dunlop was their rep’s answer when I took the racket back to the shop and she pretty much said ‘tough luck’. My impression is that older dunlop models were more durable than their current range.
