Product Info

This is the 2014 version I think. It’s supposed to be 130 grams and head-heavy. Ten grams heavier than Cameron Pilley’s Karakal Tec Gel 120, ya know? This one prolly was too heavy for Pilley’s little arms.

Tesni Evans was using this racket at the 2015 British Open:

Here’s another version. I think this is the 2013 version, but I’m not positive.

And I believe this one is the 2012 version. If you know the difference between the 2013 and 2012, please leave a comment.

    Hi Tjeerd,
Any idea what the actual racket weight of a Dunlop Biomimetic Ultimate might be? The frame weight is 132 g.

      Hi Juan,
I’am sorry, I have no idea.
But I’ll keep my eyes open at the club, and make sure to bring the kitchen scale when I spot someone playing the Dunlop Biomimetic Ultimate… 😉

I’ve played with this racket for a (very) short time, “trapped” by its frame weight. In fact, the TEC series from Karakal are quite heavy. Although the frame of this stick weighs 130 grams, the racket weight (strung and gripped) is about 170 grams. Same story with the TEC 120: frame weight is 120 grams, racket weight about 160 grams. In short, just about 40 grams is added with the bumpers, grip and strings. So, no wonder Cameron Pilley preferred the TEC 120. 😉

Of course, these numbers mean nothing without any comparison:
    Karakal BX 130 GEL
    frame weight: 130 grams
    racket weight: +/- 155 grams

    Wilson Tour BLX
    frame weight: 138 grams
    racket weight: +/- 160 grams
