Oliver Apex 900 Review
Here’s my review of the Oliver Apex 900.
This is a very light, teardrop-shaped racket with a somewhat thick shaft. It’s got the same frame shape as the Oliver Supralight Silver (but a different head shape from the Apex 700 and the Apex 500).
The Apex 900 is slightly head-heavy but is super maneuverable because of its light pick-up weight. It’s got a large string bed with a correspondingly large sweet spot.
The racket has an “exposed graphite” cosmetic with green highlights. It’s part of Oliver’s Professional range of rackets.
See the comments below for some additional reader reviews.
Travis:
Easily the most popular new racquet in our club.
Ryan:
The 900 has a very solid feel with zero vibration when hitting firm length.

Hi,
What about balance in your 900’s?
I bought two yesterday and check them.
1.
Weight 140 g, + toalson ultragrip 145g
Lenght 68,6 cm
Balance 35,5 mm, with overgrip 35 mm
2.
138 g
68,6 cm
Balance 36,4 mm
What do you think?

It isn’t more headlight that a Tecnifibre 125. It’s a lighter racquet overall with A bit more weight in the head. Excellent durability.

Pointfore Falcon Ti looks pretty the same to this racket, but it was introduced 2015.

Easily the most popular new racquet in our club. The original poster was dead on with the Pure 4 (a great intermidate racquet) being an identical molding (Tecnifibre Dynergy boxed throat), however the Epolon and K12 composition provide much more direct feedback.
The smaller price bump for the Apex 900 over the Pure 4 make it an easy choice. The head guard also seem to be a better material and is less prone to crack over the Pure 4.
Overall a top 5 racquet out of the field in my opinion.

For anyone curious, I have been playing with this for a few months and it is a very solid racquet. Same frame mold as the Pure4 but made with the Apex Eplson materials. The Pure4 (which I also have) and the 900 play very similarly. The key difference was vibration. The 900 has a very solid feel with zero vibration when hitting firm length. Both are head light and swing the same with great power and decent touch. Very quick racquet on the volley.

does anyone have any feedback on this racquet in comparison to the carboflex 125s / x speed? is it more head light? what about durability?
thanks!

Sorry, haven’t tried this one. I think the Oliver Apex 500 might be closer in frame shape to the Carboflex models.

Yes, a bit more headlight, zero vibration and incredible power. I would go Apex 900 all the way, just awesome.

Any insights on the 700? I would reckon either – the 700 and 900 – to be even to slightly head-heavy but feedback seems consistent in that it is head light.
Also, if I may: Is it in any way comparable to The older Prince rackets or more of the sort of Tecnifibre’s?
Many thanks in advance
