Yup, compression shorts. Looks like he was wearing these at least as far back as 2012:
It’s funny you mention it because I’ve been looking for ways not to have your underwear show through when you’re wearing white shorts. These are a good variation.

Here’s an idea for the clothing section:
I recently ripped my shorts during a big lunge as I just started sweating and they stuck to my legs. I noticed that some of the pros are wearing two layers of pants (like Shabana above), maybe for the same reason?
