The Unique Over Specs are designed to be worn directly over your regular prescription eyeglasses. Like all high-quality squash goggles, they are made of ASTM-approved shatterproof polycarbonate.
You won’t look like George Clooney in these, but for 8 bucks you can avoid the risk of your eyeglasses shattering directly into your eyeballs.

I wear glasses to play but these days the lenses are made of plastic and won’t shatter, so I can’t think these overglasses would be useful expect for juniors, where goggles are compulsory in tournaments.
I have tried to get people at the evening club I run to wear googles but no one does. I had a checkup at my eye hospital last week and the consultant offered to show me pics of eyeballs that have been hit by squash balls – maybe I’ll take some to the club.

I don’t think those plastic lenses are shatterproof – unless they are ASTM-certified – but I don’t think most are. Glad you advocate for goggles though! Here in the US it’s much more common to wear goggles (it’s required in tournaments and league play) so you don’t seem “weird” wearing them here. They can be a pain to keep clean during a sweaty match, but I like keeping my eyesight intact. There’s a good photo at the link below of Jonathon Power having been hit in the eye. I know two guys who have permanent eye damage from not wearing goggles.
