The Wilson Sledge Hammer 130 Ti. Decently priced at about $99.

Is it head heavy or light?

This racket looks identical to the Hyper Hammer 130, being a 130 gr. hybrid racket (head heavy & 499cm2 size b.t.w.). The Hyper Hammer 130 is only sold by the UK supplier SportsDirect dotcom (for GBP 48,-), and there is something fishy about it (the 120 version is sold by all major retailers). First, going onto the squask court you will notice when hitting the ball that the racket sounds wierd, a “ploing” type of sound, like the string is too tight or something. I have had three of these rackets, and in one a restring. The sound was still there, so it is really in the frame of the racket. Than the major issue, all 3 broke shortly one after the other. The one I longest played with, had a decent life (few months), one 5 weeks, and one 1 (!) evening. Before I have had lots of Wilsons rackets and was always happy with their endurance. This model (again: the Hyper Hammer 130) gives me the impression (ofcourse can’t proof this) that its a repainted batch of cheaper material specially produced for this retailer. You can imagine I do not recommend the Hyper Hammer 130 version.

I had a couple of the earlier paint scheme versions of this raquet and they all have that sound. I always assumed it was tight strings combined with a very stiff frame. Very distinctive compared to most racquets. While I did break them both, I don’t remember feeling they were especially fragile.
