2014

Here’s the original. I think this came out in 2014, for the 2014/2015 season.

Product Notes

These rackets have an interesting thing going on around the throat:

Wilson calls that the Power Hinge. I wonder if it could open a beer bottle after the match.

Advertised Specs

Weight: Heavy (145 grams)
Balance: Head-heavy (36.3 cm)
Head Size: Large (500 sq. cm)
String Pattern: 14 x 18

There’s another racket, the Wilson Whip 155, which is advertised as 10 grams heavier — and still has the bottle opener.

I use the Wilson Whip 145 2015 racket. I find it takes a bit of time to get used to. It has too much vibration feedback on the handle which made me stop using it. But its lightweight and offers good control.
