According to the Pro Squash Tour, 17-year-old US junior Dylan Murray was forced to resign from their tour in order to enter the US Open squash tournament, which is sanctioned by the competing PSA World Tour.
So they call the tournament the “US Open”, but actually it’s not open. It’s closed to PST players.
US Squash, the sport’s governing body in the US, owns and manages the US Open. Which means our sport’s governing body is running a tournament that’s actively restricting when and where American juniors are allowed to play squash.

Just another example of the “leaders” in our sport attempting to grow it by shrinking it, making it less accessible and creating rules that make sense for the elite few.

Hi Doug, thanks for the comment. Yeah I don’t understand this one. US Squash has a stated mission of growing participation in squash, which as far as I know they are doing a good job at, but this case seems to be a bizarre direct conflict with their stated intentions. I hope they give it some serious thought.
