Some squash equipment notes from the 2019 Nantes Open.
Decathlon was advertising their new Opfeel rackets at the event (see their logo on the tin in this photo). Also looks like Alison Waters busted out her Ashaway racket for the first time. She’s still on Salming shoes though.
Fares Dessouky has his newly acquired Tecnifibre:
I don’t know if I ever posted about the new Tecnifibre logo (gasp!) but you can see it on Fares’s racket, above. Looks nice I think. The other Tecnifibre players have it too. Greg Marche:
Marche is also rocking the Asics Gel Blade 6 (thanks michel).
Joel Makin switched to the Asics Blast FF:
Looks like Emily Whitlock switched from Salming rackets (thanks michel). I don’t recognize the racket she’s using now though:
Update, here it is (thanks Jeroen and Colin), the isquash Bolt:
It appears Emily’s father Phil Whitlock was making these rackets back in 2013 at least.
SJ Perry is using a Dunlop instead of her signature Unsquashable frame (thanks Lloyd). You can tell by the grommet color that it’s the Revelation Pro Lite, my new racket for this season (thanks Jard).
Here’s a fun video:
Paul Coll was still using his old Eye racket. I wonder if we’ll see the new colorway at the US Open.
