About the Asics Upcourt 5
The Asics Upcourt 5 is a low-cost indoor court shoe from Asics. The soles are non-marking, so they are appropriate for both indoor and outdoor sports. Technically they are in Asics’s volleyball lineup, but they can be used for other sports as well.
I first spotted the Asics Upcourt 5 in 2022. This is the latest entrant in Asics’s low-cost Upcourt range, replacing the Asics Upcourt 4.

Asics Upcourt 5 Review
I ordered myself a pair of these to test out. Here’s my video review:
Pros
- Inexpensive
- Light
- Good grip on court
- Quick break-in time
- Pretty good design
Cons
- Durability
- Insole is glued down
Bottom line, the Upcourt 5 had good grip right out of the box, and good lateral stability too. I like the cosmetics. These are inexpensive and I’m concerned about how they’ll hold up over time but for the price they are a really good deal in my opinion.

Yes. I did not test these out on the pickleball courts but I’ve played a lot of pickleball and in my opinion, these would work well.

Yes. Although I don’t play much tennis, I think these would work for casual play, especially on hard courts. I’m not so sure about clay.
