Head Speed 2023 Squash Rackets

Spotted the new Head Speed rackets for 2023 (thanks Marcin). The “Speed” line refers to Head’s teardrop models, vs. Head’s traditional bridged-throat shape rackets, which are named the Head Radical line.

For anybody using the fan pattern, what tension are you using?

I have the 135 sb. I’ve used both fan pattern and the normal one.

I go really, really low. I find I play less tense that way .. the loose feelings translates to my arm and therefore I feel my whole body more relaxed, too. It’s hard to control but you get used to it. I use 15 pounds with normal pattern and 18 with fan pattern (to take more advantage of the control)

But at higher tensions… Or “normal tensions”, I’d say the opposite would make more sense. The more srings you have, the less you need them super tight to provide control. So I’d go maybe 25-26 pounds with the 12×17 pattern and 22-24 with the 16×17 one.

      For whatever that’s worth.
