Here’s the Prince Pro Sovereign 650.

A new model of this racket just came out in 2016, and it’s called the Prince TeXtreme Pro Sovereign 650:

It appears Ramy was playing with this racket at the 2017 European team championships. Thanks to B, Lloyd and Mohammad for the tips! There’s more on Reddit here.

Product Notes

It’s 135 grams and slightly head-heavy. This is a successor to the Prince TT Sovereign rackets. Check out my video review below for more info.

I have heard that Prince racquets have been known to be somewhat brittle. I am looking for a new racquet, and I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with Prince racquets breaking.

Does he still play with this racket?

    Found a site that claims that he plays with Prince TeXtreme Pro Warrior 650 Squash Racket;

The Prince Pro Sovereign 650 seems to be out of stock in many places as it’s an older racket.

Looks like he’s still using this racket as of lately, I would imagine he will until the new 2019 line comes out later this year. The doubles and singles exhibition he just did in Seattle a week or so ago he was using it there. Can’t miss that all white stick and green strings!
Thinking of trying this one … a few are on sale on Ebay. I currently have a older 2011 EXO3 rebel, and I love it, but would be curious to see how this one hits.

Also I’ve noticed the older Sovereign models are advertised as slightly head heavy .. the Textreme models are advertised as an even balanced frame. Interesting …

I currently have a prince 03 speedport black squash racket which I love but it is very expensive at the moment and never has any price off. I am worried about changing my racket but wondered if you have any other squash rackets in mind which are like the prince 03 speedport black

I think the Prince Pro Black Speedport 850 is similar. Not sure if you can get it at a better price though.

I had been using a Prince Extender OS Destroyer and replaced with a Head Metallix 135 Pro (Flexpoint). I find this to be too light and I can’t get the same power consistently with my shots. Can you recommend please a replacement for the Prince racket?

Hi Geoff, I’m not familiar with that racket at all so unfortunately I don’t have a good recommendation for you on this.

I would be grateful for comparison pro sovereign 650 with pro airstick lite 550
I’m interested in feeling, strength, maneuverability, ease of play.

    I greet

Hi Tom, they are similar, but the Pro Sovereign 650 is a little bit heavier, and a little more head-heavy, than the Pro Airstick Lite 550 .

I have not played with Pro Sovereign 650 but have played with Sovereign TT and Air Stick 130 as well as Air Stick Lite 550. In my humble opinion, Sovereign TT was the best racket of the three as it had great overall stability as a racket and good powerful shots. Air Stik 130 was a close second and with Air Stick Lite 550, Prince has got it all wrong. After playing with the other 2 rackets, and switching to the Air Stick Lite 550, I just couldn’t get the balance and feel of the racket right even after about a month of playing. Maybe it is me but the racket is quite different in both feel and balance than the other two. Would not recommend to switch to AirStick 550 from Sovereign 650 (assuming it is similar to Sovereign TT). Pro Warrior 600 is very close to the Air Stick 130 and that could be a better bet for you (X series is a lot sturdier as well).
