Tecnifibre Carboflex 2020

The new Carboflex models are out! I’ll make separate pages for these eventually but here we go for now.

Here’s my roundup review of these rackets:

Here’s a trailer. They did a good job with this, except for calling Marwan’s style of play “speedy”. I would have gone with “tactical”.

Paul from PDH Sports interviews Laurent Blary, Tecnifibre’s Global Product & Design Manager, about the new products:

Another one from PDH with a trailer-type vibe:

Originally I thought these rackets were going with simple names like “Tecnifibre Carboflex 125” and dropping the extra descriptors like “S” or “X-Speed“, as they have used in the past, but never mind: I see Tecnifibre is calling this the Tecnifibre Carboflex AirShaft range.

Here’s Nour El Sherbini’s model.

This is Marwan Elshorbagy’s racket:

This is Tecnifibre’s mid-priced racket:

And won’t somebody please think of the children? Tecnifibre will:

Tecnifibre Team Icon Bags

They dropped some new bags. The range is called Team Icon:

Tecnifibre DYNAMIX V.P.

They came out with some new strings, the DYNAMIX V.P. I’m not sure where these sit in Tecnifibre’s range of strings. One weird things is their black strings were previously called DNAMX. I wonder if they just renamed the previous string, or maybe updated the formula and took the opportunity to rebrand it? DNAMX was frequently misspelled anyway so they may have just ditched the name entirely.

That’s all for now! Thanks to everyone who sent in tips.

Sorry Tecnifibre but I will not be upgrading. I’m really not feeling the new colour scheme. Everyone seems to be moving to white frames!?

I think I will move over to Dunlop from my current x-speed 125 and grab the Ali Farag model.

It will be interesting to see if these are actually any different from the current range, as they look exactly the same with different paint jobs. Same weights and balance. And the strings look the same also as the DNAMX too.
I hope the rackets are a bit different as it will be disappointing if they have just repainted them.
I’m sure Paul from PDH will have some reviews up soon.
The bags do look nice though as do the rackets. Their designers and marketing people are definitely on the ball!

I was wondering the same … To me, from the stock photos released and from the handful I’ve seen on the TOC gallery page of Mohammed from his first round match, the shaft and both sides of the frames look a bit thicker, little chunkier. Will be hard to see if that’s the case or not until more is released and some people get some hands on them. Hoping PDH drops their behind the scenes and hands on racket videos soon!

From a close up pic it looks like the sides of the racket are grooved (and i think they call it air shaft or something) so the idea i assume is to improve the aerodynamics and make it swing through the air quicker.

i think if there is any difference in play ability it will be very slight

17L gauge should be thinner than 17 gauge

Wonder does the Sherbini racket still have the thinner grip?
