After carboflex I felt it heavier and awkward, but now I dont want change back. The little weigt differing is fast adjusted.

Hi Everyone,
As I’ve commented on here before about this racket, I am selling the one I got a couple years ago on ebay, it’s in great shape, I did cut the bumper along the top to make it lighter in the head, and there are a few scuff marks on the actual frame due to this, but nothing major at all.
I’ve included handful’s of pics showcasing everything a new buyer would need to know.
If you are in the U.S and interested, check it out.
Thanks!!

I got a 125 curV. As someone who has never ever played with a conventional headshape I thought I would give it a try. I am currently using a 125 x-speed.
Findings so far:
Pros- Great touch and control when hit on the sweetspot (once I got used to that being lower than on the x-speed).
Cons – Heavier than the x-speed, so wanting to change direction quick and execute those volley’s drops midcourt I’m about .5 second behind what I am used to with the x-speed and hit the ball into tin, or hit the frame altogether.
This is with factory grip and factory string job with the green 305 string in the 1.20 gauge. I am going to string 18g string in it, and possibly modify/cut the bumper to cut some weight and see how it plays.
All in all so far, I still prefer my x-speed .. but optimistic about what this thing could turn into.

I still think you might find it too heavy John
I’ve just tried out the Cannonball (currently using 125 x speed too) and it’s weight and balance looks the same as the Curv125 and it’s just too head heavy for my liking.
I thought of shaving the bumper etc but thought what’s the point, might as well stick the x speed. I don’t think the extra little bit of touch you might get will outweigh the bit of extra power, and you will soon be back to the x speed and moving the curv on.
Keep us posted

Well Chris, you certainly hit the nail right on the head.
I was optimistic, and I wanted to make this racquet work, I really did. But indeed it was still just a bit too heavy, and my play was suffering.
Sure the touch was a tad better at times, but everything else was not.
To your advert; I could try and stick with it, cut the bumper, go through a slope in my game until I get adjusted to it fully (if ever) .. but why do all that and waste time when I’m playing my best squash with the x speed.
To paraphrase what Pierre mentioned in his unboxing video: “find something you like and just stick with it”.
Happy to report I am back on the x speed and boy oh boy did I miss it.
Cheers,

Hi. This one got my attention but I’m struggling to find any reliable intel – including actual/real specs. Can you share the all-in weight on the CurV 125? Also, I understand that the x-speed is lighter. Is it actually that much lighter? I have never played with the X-speed so trying to understand whether this is maneuverable or not or if, on the other hand, is it just the x-speed that is insanely light! Many thanks
