Wilson Tempest Lite

I believe the Wilson Tempest Lite first came out in 2016. I’ve just seen some updated versions in 2021 (thanks James).

There are two color schemes on Wilson’s website right now. I like how understated they look.

I guess that’s silver and white.

Product Notes

I believe this is coming out in 2016. How light is the Wilson Tempest Lite? Well, it’s listed as 135 grams, so it’s not all THAT light. I’d say sort of medium.

It seems to be the same frame shape as the Wilson One20 BLX and the Wilson Tempest 120 BLX, which were advertised as 120 grams. In other words, the Lite is heavier. Go figure.

Thanks to Rasmus for the tip!

I’m a high intermediate level squash player. I bought this racket earlier in 2017 and have been very impressed by it.

I had the racket restrung later and I changed the string tension to 26lbs and used thinner 1.12mm strings. The power that this racket generates after these adjustments is unbelievable and you can still maintain good control.

Its great for players looking to put the ball back deep in the corners while it may not be the perfect fit for players who like to keep the ball in the front of the court (drops etc).

The frame is large so that could be a minus for some players but overall a great racket for intermediate level players.

I liked it so much that I bought two more rackets later in the year.

Hope this helps with your choice.

Wilson brought back lighter weight rackets again after the release of the whip 145g & 155g, tour 138g & 145, PY 138g and 145g, etc with the exception of the medium weight ripper 133g.

The other new tempest is tempest pro 136g. Both head heavy.

Wilson hammer is back too. Hammer Pro is 145g.

Hammer lite is 120g. Balanced at 38 cm. towards the head which gives the player a feeling as if he/she’s holding a heavier racket. BK racket usually have both AFW and DW, dynamic weight.
