Here’s a roundup I did of 8 current Prince squash rackets, including the Pro Warrior 650:
Product Notes
There are two very similar-looking rackets I’ve seen in Europe and India, respectively. I’m not sure how different all these rackets are.

Same here Truwayne Gordon: can’t reply to your comment either.
Let me know how it goes with the Vortex. I tried it and is massively head-heavy for my liking – much more than the HyperPro. The ones that seemed closer so far were the Karakal Core Pro and the Dunlop Force Revelation.

Dear squash guys,
(firs of all, I would like to thank you for this amazing site and forum! I’m a Brazilian squash player, and I use it a lot!!!)
I’m writing you because I’m looking for a little help from my virtual squash friends!
I’ve bought two of this Prince Tetxtreme Warrior 650 in Brazil recently, and both broke in less than a month! It was (t)extremely frustrating, specially because these racquets in Brazil are (t)extremely expansive in function of taxes and importation process.
I believe my racquets must be a kind of first textreme model, maybe 2016, but the seller couldn’t confirm the information. A part of the fact that the racquet brakes too easily I loved the racquet!
I’ve written to squash gear site, and they said these “old” textreme models are really poor and brittle, confirming what a lot of people said about it here. But they also said that the new textreme models (2018-2019) are very different, much more durable. According to the seller, in six months they had no returns.
I’m tented to buy it again (the new model), but I’m afraid it can be only a kind of advertising discourse from the seller to sell more of the new model…
Have you had a try with these new models?
Could you help, please?
best wishes!

Hey!
I was one of those that complained a whole lot about the durability of these Raquets.
My supplier told me the same – that the new models are less brittle.
I can confirm that they are less brittle. I haven’t broken any of the new models. This after breaking a few in a month!
They are great racquets, and I couldn’t get away from them. Tried switching to 2 different brands and models, but ended up Coming back to these.
They’re just perfect for me.
Cheers!

Just to clarify, I broke a few of the previous model, not the new one 🙂

Hello!
Is there any visible difference between the 2016 model and the 2018/2019? Im planning to buy this racket, but i dont want the older version, and since my supplier doesnt know which model he is selling, i would like to verify it myself.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Just to confirm: by new models do you mean Vortex Pro? If so, what’s your insight on it? Thanks in advance

Hi,
No, I was referring to the pro warrior model.
Can’t comment on the Vortex pro, as I still haven’t broken the pro warrior! 🙌
They seem like great rackets, and the cosmetic is pretty interesting too.

Many thanks! Yes, they look good but can’t find any information on the new models anywhere. Pierre did a nice introductory/presentation to the models and so did PdHSports. No detailed review available anywhere as far as I know.

Hi. Are you still using the Pro Warrior or have you found a decent replacement elsewhere? Just curious as I am on my second Pro Warrior breakage and currently considering a replacement -though I love the Pro Warrior X… many thanks
Truwayne Gordon says
()
Hey!
Yes, I continued using it. Although I did have one more breakage. There’s just something about this model that just feels right.
I used the pro sovereign, which I found great as well. Great for a more traditional game, tight down the line and good power.
But the pro warrior suited me well for a volley and high paced game.
Basically, no. I haven’t found anything that I like as much.
Good luck. And I hope Prince get better with their consistency and quality.

Many thanks. Yeah. I guess I will keep on burning them to the wall and order a new replacement (I still have one). I will give the Hyper Pro a try when I can as it seems to be the closest from the new range.
Do you know If there are actually any differences between the PW 600 (or X) and the 650?
Many thanks
Truwayne Gordon says
()
For some reason I can’t reply to your last comment.
Yeah, I did the same, just kept hoping they don’t break.
I have both the 600 and 650.
The 600 seems more evenly balanced, which I like. The 650 is slightly head heavy. But I switched between them without issue. Very similar Raquets.
Let us know how you find the hyper pro when you try it.

()
Hi. I finally tried the HyperPro and I found it a bit more head heavy than I like. I ended up going with the new Dunlop Sonic Core Evolution as out of all the rackets I tried it seemed the one that it would suit my game the most. After 3 weeks I am back to the Pro Warrior and I believe that I will stick with it for as long as I can buy them. It’s just perfect for me – a joy to play with, really fun! I guess the backside is that I will have to get used to all the breakage issues but, all in all, we are suppose to have fun playing and the Pro Warrior 600/X is the racket I enjoy playing with the most. If I ever come across an honest replacement, I will report! Thanks for all your help.

Strange – I can’t reply to your comment directly João.
I understand your pain completely. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I had the same experience. No matter what I tried switching to (Technifibre Carboflex X-Speed 125), nothing feels like the warrior.
I will try out the vortex I think, and will let you know how that goes.
I havent played in ages, so I will likely get used to it. I think a lot is mental too – once you find something that feels so natural, its hard to switch.
Enjoy!

For what it’s worth, I did recently order a Textreme Pro Airstick 550 3 weeks ago… played with it a handful of times now — had fair amounts of wall hits and scraps, frame still going on strong.
Although I will be selling this now, as I have gotten my hands on a oldie EXO3 Rebel, and I am loving that one much much more for my swing and gamestyle.
Cheers!

Hi John,
thanks for your message! Some times I have exactly the same question because the new Textreme models are extremely expansive (specially if you live in Brazil), then you can buy one new textreme or two old Rebels or Black SP for the same price…
I’ve heard that the Black is a bit lighter then the Rebel one, in terms of the final weight (theoretically they should have the same weight), have you tried it?
And what do you say about durability? Do you know if they are durable or it can change according to the model’s year?
Thanks a lot!

Not a problem!
I have not tried out the Black SP though .. I think it is balanced headlight, which will make it seem more maneuverable and lighter and the Rebels are balanced more head heavy, even though they are both 135g frames. The rebel is also holding up well, just played about 8 games with it last night, had some wall hits and dings. But I am also a relatively ‘cautious’ player, so I won’t go swinging away with all my might at a wallpaper ball in the back corner trying to dig it out. I’ll attempt it, but with a softer flick, just for my peace of mind and also for prolonging the frame as best I can.
If it was in a tournament though, and same situation… it might be a different story .. lol but yeah. Sorry don’t have more feedback for you!

Pro Warrior 600 and Pro Warrior 600 X are hardly different except for the durability. The former has a brittle frame and my friend broke it in a few weeks where as I own the latter and my racket is still going strong after 4 months of play and multiple impacts every time I play. If you want to go for either, would recommend to go for Pro Warrior 600 X.

What would be a comparable racket in the Dunlop or Head brands? Something light yet head heavy?
Alex Nagshineh says

Heads up to anyone thinking of getting the warrior 650. I’ve just gone through two in as many weeks due to the horribly brittle frame. Both times after fairly low-impact sidewall retrievals. Love the racket but won’t be using Prince again sadly.
Truwayne Gordon says
()
Love this racket!
But unfortunately, I’ve had the same experience.
After a few months of play, I’ve gone through 2, and both have broken in the same spot – at the top of the racket just past 12 o’ clock.
One of them broke with the first hour of use!
Prince PR is extremely poor as well, and there is no channel to communicate with them!
Truwayne Gordon says
()
Update – I’ve broken a third racket.
Each breakage occurred with relatively minor impact on the side-wall when trying to squeeze out a tight shot.
The Textreme re-enforcement on the 10 and 2 o’clock positions, seem to add the the weakness at 12 o’clock – a point that comes into contact with the side-wall regularly.
I have decided to move on from squash, as reviews of this racket and others have led to an assumption that there is either a design or manufacturing fault.
Furthermore, the Prince brand itself has, in my opinion, lost quality and focus in the squash space.
There is no PR, apart from the occasional post concerning Ramy, and no communication otherwise.
It’s really disappointing, after being a Prince fan since my very first racket.
With more innovative, squash focused brands such as Salming and Technifibre, I would not be surprised if Prince went through another liquidation!
Rant over!
Pierre says
()
You’re moving on from squash or just from Prince? :O

Oops! Definitely just Prince.

Hi Squashers,
We just received the new 2017/18 Prince line and the Prince Warrior 650. New slight name change and new tweaks to hopefully make it a better racquet.
Slightly lighter now at 125 grams and slightly more head heavy for more plow through. Hence why they upped the power level to 650.
Biggest change though is said to be a new factory as well as extending the Textreme Graphite across the entire top of the racquet. Last year it was only at the 10 & 2 o’clock spots. Hopefully durability will be increased.
You can check it out at:

Happy squashing,
Larry
