Here’s the side view. To me, it looks like the same style ports as the Pro Phantom. There’s more discussion in the comments. They are not the EXO3 ports or the standard (Airstick-style) grommets:

    Any recommendations for prince ranchers that would replace the air stick 130.
    Looking for something slight more solid with a similar balance.

      Pro Warrior X is the closest I have played with ever if not slightly more powerful.

      In my scale my Airstick with Karakal grip and Ashaway strings weights 140gr and does not feel head-heavy at all. The Pro Warrior arrived weighting as much as 150 but once i replaced the grip and the strings (same as the Airstick) it came down to 145gr. I tend to believe that the Airstick is lighter in the head but the truth is that when I hold them with my eyes closed I can’t tell the difference and randomly pick one or the other, so I guess they do feel the same.

      There are a few posts explaining the differences between the Pro Warrior 600 and the X. i would not take any chances and go for the X.

          I have a pair since October 2010 – the first broke after 4 months. It had a crack at the top – probably from a harder boast/hit to the wall – and i continued playing with it until it broke completely after 3 or 4 sessions. The other is still going on strong as new.

          My guess is that it is much better than the other Princes I have used in the past but still not as durable as a Dunlop. I never broke any of my Dunlops – despite some very hard hits – but a friend of mine did it in just a couple of games. All in all, as long as it lasts me a season i am extremely happy because there is no other racket that makes me enjoy the game as much as I do with my Pro Warrior. If I were on a tight budget my answer could be different but the facts are what they are: 2 rackets; one broke after 4 months, the other one has 5 months of gameplay without problems. I play 3 times a week at a 4.5 level (more or less).

    I believe that all new models are much head heavy, i played with air sticks since 3 years, earlier, I bought the vortex pro &after one month trial, very heavy head, changed to hyper pro , same feeling and no ball sense, hate to say no more Prince , even phonex differs than the pro beast, I’m 49 ex Egyptian team who played 4 British open so I can tell a big different bet models

      It would be fun to know how you’d experience playing with a Xamsa racket since your an ex professional. I’m just an amateur and haven’t played with all the brands or different models, but to me there is one type of racket that always feels better than the rest, and that is a Xamsa racket. Currently testing an Ashaway powerkill 110 and it feels very good. Just hit with it for the second time today so can’t say for certain how I feel about it. Great precision and control. Some lack of power though. Maybe the strings will loosen up. 🤔

        I played with the 110 for a few months..loved it, the only downside I found was the lack of power on certain shots. I found I had to improve my technique to get some extra juice. I now play with the new carboflex 125 and am loving it!

      I just bought the venom Pro. Superb racket! I used the air stick and various other tear drop models of Technifiber until now. What I like about the Venom Pro is that the weight is towards the sides of the frame and not so much in the head. This seems to give me really good control and feel. No vibrations and the power is well optimized and uniform across the bead. Racket moves quickly through the air because of the speed ports.

        Hi. Is it still holding up? How would you compare it to the Airstick: I’m addicted to the Airstick / Pro Warrior but can’t bear breaking any more. 6 and counting… looking for the closest possible replacement but can’t seem to settle with anything. Thanks in advance

    Currently playing with the Ashaway 110 powerkill and looking for something a bit different..can’t decide between Prince & Technibre..any suggestions?

    Love the look of the new venom & vortex pro but I’m a little worried if I’d be wasting my money if they aren’t durable – looking for a racket with more power for drives whilst still maintaining good control

    I am lookinh for a racket which delivers power and is light.
    I am using technifibrr carboflex xspeed 125s but it doest generate power like that of carboflex 125.
    I have exo3 prince but it was on heavier side.
    How do you think is venom pro 950? In terms of power delivery and is is lighy weighy too?
    I used head cyano 115 which was amazing but unable tp find it now.

      Its 5g heavier than the carboflex but has a much greater sweet spot which for me as a casual but nevertheless determined player it is great . To me the Prince venom pro is a far better balanced racket

        Played with it now for over 3 months now and feels superb /strong . i actually fell onto it recently and got a big purple thigh to prove it . Racket was unscathed and i am no lightweight .
        I tried the carboflex 125s and hated it so much i gave it away to a youngster at my local leisure centre . I should never have moved away from prince and will not make that mistake again.

          Do you feel it as head-light, even or head-heavy? I’ve seen the specs but overall I think they are misleading because the vortex is really head-heavy and was advertised as head-light.

          Also, do you happen to know what is the weight of the venom pro all in (grip and strings)? Many thanks in advance

            Not sure if you’re still interested in the Venom Pro a year later, i got it recently. Mine weighs 161g all in, feels fairly head-heavy too.

    I have had some time to compare the stats of the 2017/18 Prince racquets and the new ones.

    Some quick observations:
    – basically the whole range became lighter (a little bit) and significantly less head-heavy, more balanced, more head-light but the same stringing patterns
    – venom pro is the new phantom but with speedport holes (not exo3 holes) and the new one is evenly balanced (350mm from 378)
    – phoenix pro is the new pro beast, lighter and now with head-light balance
    – vortex pro is the new pro warrior – this is the only one without weight change, but this one also became head-light
    – hyper pro is the new airstick but 10g lighter and now head light

    below the pro range there is the elite range, just like before there was the team range below the pro range. but strangely there is almost no difference in weight/balance/sting pattern but the materials used are different

      Regarded to the Vortex Pro / Pro Warrrior 600 your statement is wrong. I now played the Vortex for 3 weeks. This racket is way more headheavy than the Warrior. Weight is 167 grams, 15 grams over the Warrior. Both are advertised with 125 g naked.

        My Vortex Pro has just landed on the mail. Haven’t taken it to the court but in the hand it seems significantly more head-heavy than my Airstick 130 – when i thought it would be similar. The Airstick seems way more headlight. I will restring it, change the grip and share my thoughts afterwards but just by holding it in my hand, I get a sense that I should have gone for the Hyper Pro.

      Prince (or whoever Prince is these days, since there is no connection with prince tennis anymore it seems) have reverted to the traditional ‘speedport’ holes, which are simple and rectangular and resist breakage far more than all its successive changes it made in the o-port, o3, exo3.

      Last year’s phantom rackets although looked more similar to the classic ‘ported’ rackets, felt more like the 2017-18 pro rebel. Hollow and stiff (though nothing near the disparity between tecnifibre x-speed when compared to their classic carboflex)

      A lot of prince players much prefer the speedport/03 generation of construction (in terms of feel at least), but unless those factories and methods are being used (which is doubtful) I don’t think there will be much change this year other than these new paint jobs.
