Update: Tecnifibre released an updated model, the Tecnifibre Carboflex 125 NS, in 2020.
This racket is coming out in 2018 from Tecnifibre. I believe it’s a Nour El Sherbini signature version of the Tecnifibre Carboflex X-Speed 125, which launched at the same time (hence the “NS”, for Nour Sherbini, at the end of “Tecnifibre Carboflex X-Speed 125 NS”).
Reviews
My review! I really like the small grip.

HI,
I recently purchased the X-Speed 130 version with the DNAMX 1.20mm factory strings. The racket was a joy to play with. However the strings broke from the side after just 1-week of play.
I dont have a stringer available in my location, so had to send it out of country to get it re-strung. Since it is not cost effective to keep breaking strings and sending the racket out every few weeks so i discussed with the stringer (who is a Technifibre authorized dealer) and he advised to use the DNAMX 1.25mm.
In short i got the racquet re-strung with DNAMX 1.25mm at 26lbs tension (factory tension is 25lbs). Received the racquet back, the strings feel quite solid now and i dont think they will break anytime soon. However i do not have as much power in the racquet any more. On the 1st day of play after getting the racquet back, i felt my arm got tired after a couple of matches as i tried to generate the same amount of power as before.
Any suggestions?

That is a tricky situation. Your stringer has suggested a thicker string, which makes sense for better durability, but you aren’t liking it as much now. Since it’s so difficult to get it restrung, I would let the strings settle in for a couple weeks and see if they start feeling better as they lose a bit of tension and you get used to them.
That’s interesting there’s no stringer near you. Might be a good opportunity for someone nearby to invest in a stringing machine and start a side business!

Dear Pierre,
you said that the balance points of these racquets (ElShorbag and Sherbine) are 360mm and 365mm respectively, but they are both advertised as 350mm… is it right?

Those were my measurements on a balance beam at home. There can be variability within a given racket though

Stumbled over this Sherbini version and a Dunlop hyperfibre XT Revelation Pro Lite (yes shorten the names of your rackets, Dunlop, please…) which been used maximum once or twice for as low as 120 usd! Loved the balance of the Dunlop but thought the X-speed felt little too head heavy. Altered the grip, so I tore of the one it came with, and rebuilt the grip with two Head overgrips over one another. Perfect! Also stuck some Uhu Patafix (shapable glue pads) on the butcap and altered the balance to 35 cm. Even. Niiiiice! 😁

Any idea what’s the default tension for both versions (125NS)?
I’ve played with the 125NS and loving it. I’m coming from BK Great White Single since the top of the frame is getting thinner (rubber bumper and paint are gone).

Mohammed El Shorbagy strings his racket at 26lbs

Has anyone used this so far? what’s the verdict on the thinner grip, does it make a difference?
Clearly the Shorbagy model will be a bigger seller too, i prefer these cosmetics and the royal blue colour

All models are available for sale in Asia now.

is definitely the same as the M El Shorbagy version, just different colour?

I heard — although I can’t remember from whom — that the grip is a little smaller on the NS

I had a hit with the new range a few days ago…..yes correct the grip on the NS version is smaller than the regular Shorbagy version. There seems to be a layer of carbon on the frames now making the frames feel good to touch. Hitting the ball had a really nice feel but the weight of the rackets is definitely heavier than the current, or shall I say older, 125S. Is it significantly better than the 125S it replaces? ….. I personally prefer the weight and balance of the old 125S.

I actually prefer the original 125 (yellow and black) most of all, that racket is almost perfect.

Pierre is correct! Out in March.. A few have “leaked” and I got my hands on both the NS and standard 125. Exact same frame and definitely plays like all 125’s of the past with a little less vibration and maybe a tad more power. The power could be from the strings as ive been stringing mine at 28lbs on 305 1.1. with all of my 125s’s. Cheers

Is the grip diameter the same between the “NS” and regular?
